North East Arnold Development Brief

This consultation will open on Friday 17 August 2018.

We are consulting on the draft development brief for development in the north east of Arnold between Friday 17 August and 5pm on Friday 28 September 2018.

What is this about?

Three sites to the north east of Arnold have been allocated for housing at Brookfields Garden Centre (site H2), Howbeck Road/Mapperley Plains (site H7) and Killisick Lane (site H8).

We are preparing a development brief to guide future planning applications and inform local residents and interested organisations of the preferred nature and form of development.  The map below shows the three sites.

The development brief sets out how interconnected issues associated with these sites (such as the provision of a new primary school, drainage issues and the provision of open space) should be addressed to ensure that the sites are developed in a sustainable manner.

We would welcome your comments on the draft development brief.  Please note the principle of development has already been agreed and so comments relating to this will not be considered.

Please note: the housing sites at Brookfields Garden Centre H2, Howbeck Road/Mapperley Plains H7 and Killisick Lane H8 are outlined in red. The wider area of the development brief is shown in black and includes areas of green space which will not form part of the housing development sites. Access to the housing site will involve the loss of a small part of the Local Nature Reserve but an area of land to the north of the housing allocation will be provided in compensation.
